Our First Hebrew Catholic Passover Seder

This past weekend we were blessed to celebrate our first Hebrew Catholic Seder!

Thanks go out to everyone who participated and attended.  We were really amazed at how peaceful and joyful the evening was.  We had 16 attend mostly from this Havurah but a few guests as well.

We used the Haggadah that was written and prepared by the Association of Hebrew Catholics based out of St. Louis and headed up by David Moss.  We are indebted to them.  This Haggadah is now available online to view, print, and use for the future at http://www.hebrewcatholic.org/

It was very easy to follow and what is amazing is that everyone was excited to read how the Seder prefigures the Mass.  There were many ah ha moments during the Seder but one of the most impressive was when Tommy the youngest male participant (2nd grader) chanted the 4 Questions so beautifully!  We all had tears in our eyes especially Mom and Dad.  Thanks Tommy for a job well done.

There were many hours of preparation on the food and the set up.  We are grateful for all of you who took their time, talents, and treasure to make this event happen.  We are sure to more Passover Seders in the years to come.

Thanks also to David Moss and the Association of Hebrew Catholics for their leadership and scholarship and making this possible.

Our regular Havurah meetings will resume on May 15 and we will be meeting at Robin's house.  We hope you can make it.  We will be continuing in the book, The Crucified Rabbi, by Taylor Marshall.  We also have the latest publication of the The Hebrew Catholic that was just published recently.  Please be sure to pick that up when you come next time.  For those of you who are reading this but not in the Havurah you can order a FREE copy to try by visiting http://www.hebrewcatholic.org/ and requesting a free copy.  If you like you can subscribe and even send a few shekels to help continue this important apostolate.

I would invite any of you who attended this Seder to write to us and tell us what you thought and if you would recommend this particular Haggadah.  We sure would love to hear from you on the blog.

Until next time, continue to have a blessed Lent.  Happy Pesach (Passover).  Also have a blessed Palm Sunday and Easter.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
